Presenters Talent Line-Up Announced for 2019 Writers Guild Awards West Coast Show
Los Angeles – The Writers Guild of America West has announced its initial talent line-up of presenters scheduled to appear at the 2019 Writers Guild Awards West Coast ceremony hosted on Sunday, February 17, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
In addition to this year’s show host, Writers Guild and SAG Award-nominated writer-actress-comedian Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation), presenters slated to appear at the WGAW’s L.A. ceremony include Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star/co-creator Rachel Bloom, SAG Award-winning and Golden Globe-nominated actress Alison Brie (GLOW, The Post), Emmy-winning and WGA-nominated actress-writer-comedian Sarah Silverman (I Love You, America, We Are Miracles), Golden Globe-winning actress-host Jane Lynch (Hollywood Game Night, Glee), SAG Award-winning and WGA-nominated actor-writer Ed Helms (The Office, The Fake News with Ted Nelms), Emmy and SAG Award-winning actor Tony Hale (Veep, Arrested Development), Saturday Night Live cast member Sasheer Zamata (I Feel Pretty), SAG Award-nominated actress and The Goldbergs co-star Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), grown-ish and Insecure co-creator and Emmy-winning writer-producer Larry Wilmore, Emmy and WGA-nominated writer-comedian-actress Tig Notaro (One Mississippi, Instant Family), actor Cedric Yarbrough (Speechless, BoJack Horseman), actor-writer Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, Friends from College), actor Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part), comedian-actor Sebastian Maniscalco (Green Book, Stay Hungry), screenwriter-director/series co-creator/actor Stephen Merchant (Fighting with My Family, Hello Ladies, The Office), actor David Koechner (The Goldbergs, Superior Donuts), SAG Award-winning actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos), and performer Puddles Pity Party.
This year’s honorees include Orange is the New Black and Weeds creator Jenji Kohan, who will receive the WGAW’s Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Writing Achievement; Oscar and WGA-nominated comedy screenwriting team Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel (Parenthood, Splash), who will receive the WGAW’s Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement, presented to the veteran writing partners by Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Parenthood, Splash) and writer-director Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Parenthood, Splash); Writers Guild and Academy Award-winning screenwriter-director Adam McKay (The Big Short), who will receive the WGAW’s Paul Selvin Award for his satirical, subversive Vice screenplay, which embodies the spirit of constitutional rights and civil liberties, presented by MSNBC host-journalist Chris Hayes (All In with Chris Hayes); pioneering French filmmaker Agnès Varda (La Courte Pointe, Vagabond, Faces Places), who will receive the WGAW’s Jean Renoir Award for International Screenwriting Achievement, presented by former WGAW President/screenwriter Howard A. Rodman (August, Savage Grace); and documentary filmmaker-writer and former WGAW Board of Directors member Joan Meyerson, who will receive the WGAW’s Morgan Cox Award for Guild service.
Emmy winner Hugh Fink (Saturday Night Live) returns as Executive Producer of the Writers Guild Awards L.A. show, along with Producers Joselyn Allen and Tara Power (Decoupage Productions), Co-Producer Kelly Brock, Director Nick Murray, Head Writer Joe O’Brien and Writers Ed Lee, Danielle Koenig, Robin Henry, Yassir Lester, Brendon Walsh, and Shelly Goldstein.
The WGAW’s Awards Committee includes Guild members Karen Harris (chair), Steve Chivers, Patrick J. Doody, Shelly Goldstein, and Scott Saltzburg.
